A total of 1.6 million civil servants, including contract employees, are expected to benefit from the MyEzyCover program, Malaysia’s family auto insurance financing program. Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said its eligible for both civil servants and temporary civil servants to apply for funding programs as long as the debt ratio does not exceed 60% of his total monthly income. He added that the government has agreed that the scheme will be extended to state-owned enterprises, state-owned investment companies and private sector employees in the near future.

A funding program, initially implemented digitally for civil servants, will offer the possibility of renewing auto insurance and vehicle tax policies with interest-free or 0% funding, he said. Additionally, Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa)’s payroll deduction scheme allows officials to renew car insurance and car tax with no down payment and loan repayment in installments up to 10 months.
